There are numerous fans of several genres of extreme/hard music who are fond of good old cassettes, but brutal death metal doesn’t seem to be one of those. That’s exactly what makes of this intercontinental split-cassette a curiosity.
Writhing hail from Detroit, Michigan and deliver death metal the US way – think especially of Malevolent Creation. They have an underlying melodic edge, as well as a certain thrash-ability which makes their songs memorable, giving them a good flow.
Ad Patres are a french band founded by the drummer of Seth, an older black metal band. They have a more modern and brutal style, quite technical and intense. Pas mal du tout!
This split is comprised of Writhing “Indomitable” EP and Ad Patres’ “Promo 20100″. We have attached all the tracks of the split below.
