ANCESTRAL HOUSE OF THE SUN – s/t LP (CTS Prods/Toygun Sounds) 5€

Folk is not at all within my field of expertise. Therefore I am unable to namedrop any A.H.O.T.S. influences. What I can tell you for sure is that they reminded me a lot of GRAILS,  a band that I love.

The tracks are build around acoustic guitars playing quality themes. Other instruments pop up occasionally  adding variety, and so are some sparse background vocals  (only one track out of the lot is sung in a standard way).

Eventhough I cannot really locate this in the context of contemporary folk, this is some quality, spiritual music all. I love it.

Locals and the greek scene connoisseurs already know that Serafim, Brotherhood Of Sleep‘s drummer, is the head honcho here.
