SPECTRAL LORE/LOCUST LEAVES (GR) split-CD (Order Of Theta) 7€

One has almost always a love/hate relationship with music that has lyrics in his native tongue. Well, let me tell you I haven’t enjoyed a metal album with lyrics in greek so much since Kawir’s debut “To Kawirs”…

I’ve originally discovered this release in digital format. I must say that getting it into your hands is a whole different affair, since an amazing job has been done on the artwork, layout and packaging.

Both bands create a powerful and epic black metal narrative, reminiscent at times of established acts of the genre but always with their own personal touch and via custom filters.

The greek language fits well to the whole scheme, especially in the case of Locust Leaves whose side peaks with some enchanting vocals singing staggering lyrics. Being the least known act of the lot, they prove to be adventurous and confident of their own skills. They brought to me in mind at times Catharsis in their most atmospheric moments, but I know for a fact that these guys aren’t familar with them. Make sure you check out their beautiful site, built like an adventure game interface, and find out more about one of the most intruiguing acts of the underground greek metal scene.

With the reliable merchants of cosmic, atmospheric black metal, Spectral Lore, completing the trip, this is a must have release.
