It feels fucking good each and every time a great new piece of work from an old comrade reaches me.

Ever since we’ve started out as a distro back in 2001, Blastbeat has distributed the releases of Spikekult , the label of Antaeus / Aosoth vocalist/lyricist mKm. Now like then. a new SPK release is always properly celebrated.

This new 7″ is a must-have for french black metal fans. Packed elegantly and with class (see below for collector details), it features two excellent tracks that you’ll be spinning non-stop and which will make you beg for more.

Haemoth’s conception of black metal is close to  the late 90’s/early 00’s Swedish take on “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” (aka Triumphator, Malign, Funeral Mist), with a dash of Antaeus’ unrelenting pulse, Aosoth’s discordance and the occasional bonus like the Godflesh break in the middle of “Scent Of Flesh” or “Condemned”‘s industrial outro.

The vocals are vicious and vitriolic, bass plays a prominent role and the great production follows the aforementioned “De Mysteriis…” paradigm: massive, cold, crystalline. Superb!
